Kai
Icouldnât tell you how long I had been kicking covers, but here I was, still wide awake with a frown on my face. Why is it that I was so caught up in this man when I knew from the beginning that he belonged to another? When his phone rang, and I saw the name Tyra, my heart dropped for some reason. Through the conversations we had, I knew that his sisterâs name was Khasidy, so Tyra had to be his future wife.
Some would think that I was overreacting or trippin, but my feelings for Kasper were very real. It was almost like a love at first sight kind of thing you could say. My mind drifted to a few hours earlier when I walked in on him in whatever trance he was in. The look in his eyes was unstable, yet I was more concerned than afraid. He was battling something heavy, and I wanted nothing more than to battle it with him.
âThat man is damn near married Kai,â I mumbled to myself.
I couldâve sworn a small voice whispered in my ear, he ainât married yet, but I shook it off. We had to get out of this house. The more I was around him, the deeper I fell for this man.
Grabbing my tablet, I searched for other places to stay to finish out our vacation. It took a while, but I found a nice three bedroom villa not far from where we were. I bookmarked the location and made a mental note to call them first thing in the morning.
Still not able to fall asleep, I searched through my playlist and settled on Fallen by Payton. This song described how I was feeling in this moment. Wanting so badly to take my ass down the hall, I refrained, telling myself that it would only lead in heartbreak for me if I went there with him. Still, I wanted to.
I need to get this off my mind, cause I feel like Iâm wasting time
They ainât got nothinâ on you, itâs âbout us
Boy I donât care what they say
I just want you for myself.
Having enough of the tossing and turning, I kicked the covers all the way off, sitting up in the bed. Running my hand through my curly mane, I stood up and made my way out the room. Walking up to the closed door, I lifted my hand to knock, but I stopped myself.
âThis is stupid,â I mumbled to myself before walking away from the door.
Before I could take another step, the door came opened, causing me to turn around.
âHey, you okay?â Kasper asked me.
âUh, yeah Iâm fine, I justâ¦â I started but stopped myself.
He didnât respond at first; he just kind of stared at me for a second.
âYou wanna come in or?â
âIâm not sure if thatâs a good idea,â I replied shaking my head.
Nodding his head in understanding, he turned to go back into his room. My heart raced, almost like I would never see him again if he closed his door.
